We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Black Cockatoo Cottages in Yanakie. Waking in the morning to the sounds of birds and cows at milking time, with the sun rising directly before us over the Prom was a beautiful start to the day. The cottage was well situated to explore neighbouring towns – we particularly enjoyed visiting Fish Creek where the artistic community is so well represented – and stopping at some of the local wineries. And of course, we were on the doorstep of the Prom where we had an enjoyable day walking amongst banksia groves and visiting the southernmost mangrove swamp, as well as climbing a mountain to take in the view.
Black Cockatoo Cottages have an unimpeded view of The Prom. It’s a peaceful location and well set up for self-catering… as long as you remember to take everything including tea and coffee. We had a thoroughly restful time there and would certainly consider staying there again when we return to this beautiful part of Victoria. THANK YOU!
