Black Cockatoo was everything we hoped for our stay of two nights. Our cottage was well appointed, private, and had a wonderful view across the farms to the bay on the north side of Wilson’s Promontory which provided a strong skyline. The moonless nights were brilliant with the stars of the southern skies, the Magellanic Clouds being clearly visible alongside the Milky Way which is so much more intense than in the northern hemisphere.

The access to the Prom was a few kilometers down the road which made it easy to access the park at dusk for sighting of kangaroos, a fox, and a mysterious black animal that loped away before we got too close. During the day it was an easy drive to the various hikes and beaches. Squeaky Beach didn’t squeak but it did provide some wonderful surf to play in and smooth overhanging rocks where we could get out of the sun. Sandesh, thanks for being such a great host and for the possible explanation of our mystery animal.
